RVV cable is a copper core PVC insulated and PVC sheathed flexible cable, also known as a soft sheathed wire. It is composed of multiple stranded copper conductors, each individually insulated with PVC, and then enclosed within an outer PVC sheath. The conductors are Class 5 stranded copper — multiple fine copper strands twisted together — which provides superior flexibility compared to solid-core cables.
The RVV designation follows the Chinese national standard nomenclature:
